Bài 1: Learning English - Lesson One (Introduction).

Bài dịch song ngữ bài 1:

Hi everybody this is Misterduncan in England.
How are you today?
Hôm nay bạn khỏe không ?
Are you okay?...I hope so.
Bạn khỏe hả ?...Tôi hy vọng thế
Are you happy?...I hope so.
Welcome to the very first episode of my series of English teaching videos Before I begin we will take a look at some of the common questions that often arise when talking about learning the English language. And more importantly, learning it as a second language.
So, the first question must be... "Why do we need to learn English?"
Of course one of the reasons why we need to be able to speak English nowadays
is because the world is becoming smaller.
Thanks to the internet and our developing global economy, more and more people are using English as a common way to communicate with each other.
So now it has become unavoidable that companies and large businesses will need to employ people who can speak more than their own native language, that is where English comes in.
It is now officially considered as an international language.
Of course learning anything is difficult and English is no exception. However, there are ways to make the situation easier.
I have come up with my own list of general rules for learning English. Do you want to hear them?
Do you want to know what they are?
Ok...let's go!
Được rồi...hãy bắt đầu !
Learning English takes time and patience.
Học tiếng Anh cần tốn thời gian và lòng kiên nhẫn
It cannot be rushed
Việc này không thể vội vã
Try to relax and take it easy
The most important thing you need at the beginning is a good vocabulary
Without words, you have nothing to work with
You must start with a strong foundation or base.
and slowly build on it, day by day!
You must view English as a part of your body...
just as you would an arm or leg
It must become a part of your everyday life.
Daily practise is very important.
Thực hành mỗi ngày là rất quan trọng
Do not worry about making mistakes...
in fact the more mistakes you make...
The more you will learn from them
just like learning to ride a bike
cứ xem giống như học lái xe đạp
sometimes you fall off.
nhiều lúc bạn cũng té ngã
So what do you do?
Những lúc như thế bạn làm gì ?
You get back on and try again.
Bạn trở lại công việc và thử làm lại
Do not look at English as just another subject
Your attitude to English and the way you view it will decide how well you progress.
just as we say in English "No pain...no gain" The two most important words to remember
when learning English are...practise and confidence. Practise English everyday and be confident. You will find that the more you use English...the better your English will become.
and the more confident you become...then the more you will want to use it.
Make it a rule to tell yourself...I can do it...I can do it...I can do it !
Hãy để nó là một quy tắc để tự nhủ với bạn...Tôi có thể làm được...Tôi có thể làm được...Tôi có thể làm được!
Please remember, my lessons are aimed at everyone, so hopefully you will find something useful in each one.
Maybe you will find some of the words I use very easy. But you will also see some words that may be new to you. Remember...my lessons are aimed at everyone.
Even teachers are very welcome to join in.

Bài 2: Learning English - Lesson Two (Hello/Goodbye).

Bài dịch song ngữ bài 2:

Hi everybody this is Misterduncan in England.
How are you today ?
Are you OK? ... I hope so!
Are you.... ? ... happy.. ?
I hope so
In today' lesson, we're going to talk all about
Saying "Hello" and... "Goodbye"

When we first meet someone...
whether it is a person we kow
or someone we are meeting for the first time,
we will normally use a simple sentence
as a way of greeting them
A greeting is a friendly way of opening a conversation,
or as a way of letting the other person know
that we have seen them.
There are many ways to say hello.
'Hi' 'Hello' 'Hi there' 'Hello there' 'Hey, how are you doing?'
'Howdy friend'(USA) 'What's up?' 'How's it going'
'Wow, it's good to see you!'
We sometimes use a double greeting...
for example...
'Hi there, hey how are you doing?'
'Hello' how have you been?'
'It's good to see you, how's life been treating you?'
If you are meeting someone for the first time
you can say...
'Good to meet you'
'It's nice to meet you'
'I'm pleased to meet you'
'It's a pleasure to meet you'
These sentences are often used
after the other person has been introduced to you.
if you are meeting someone you have not seen
or hear from for a long time,
then you can show real surprise and shock.
'Oh my God, it's you !'
'Aahh, where have you been?'
'My goodness, long time no speak'(see)
'Wow, it's so good to see you again'
'Is it really you? When did we last meet?'
'Wow, as I live and breathe, it's my best friend from school'
If you are in a hurry
then may only be a short time
in which to make your greeting.
'Hi, sorry I can't stop'
'Oh hi there, look I'm abit pushed for time...'
...here's my phone number...
...give me a call sometime'
'Hellow there, look I'm on my way to work...'
...maybe catch up with you again soon'
'Hey' I would love to stop and chat...
..but I really have to dash'
This type of greeting is common these days
because we are all in such a big hurry
to get some place...
fast !
We sometimes use the word 'hello'
as a way of showing surprise
or a way of expressing a sudden interest in something.
'Hello, wha's going on here ?'
Hello, I did not Know he had a girlfriend'
Hello, what's going on over there?'
Hello, something is wrong here...
...he took my money!'
Here in the UK, people will often greet each other
by taking a bout the weather.
'Hello, isn't it a lovely day?'
'Hello, what about this terrible weather?'
'Hello, did you hear the storm last night?'
In many countries people will ask about the family.
'Hello, how's the family?'
Hello, how;s your wife doing?'
Hello, how are the kids?'
In China people will often greet each other
by asking if they have eaten their lunch or dinner,
or ask them where thay are going.
The word 'Hello' can also be used informally
as the way of expressing sarcasm or annoyance.
'Hello, did you understand what I said?'
'Hello, was that too difficult for you to read?'
'Hello, did you see me waving at you?'
'Hello, do you not recognise me?'
'Hello, what time do you call this?...'
You Are Late!

'Parting is such sweet sorrow'
'That I shall say goodnight, till it be morrow'
That's Shakesperare, that is.
Saying 'Goodbye'
There are many ways to say goodbye.
'Bye' 'Bye for now' 'Bye-bye' 'See ya'
'So long' 'Ciao' 'Later' 'Cheerio' 'See you around'
'Farewell' 'Ta-ra' 'See you again' 'Ta-ta for now'
'Catch you later' 'Goodbye'
You will often hear me say 'ta-ra'
at the end of my English lessons.
This expression is mostly used in certain parts of the UK.
it is a friendly, fun way to say goodbye.
Well I have come to the end of this lesson,
so I must bid you a fond farewell
until next time we meet here
on the super-duper Internet hightway.

This is Misterduncan in england saying...
...thank you for watching me, teaching you...and...
Ta-ta for now.
Bài 3: Learning English-Lesson Three (Please & Thank You).

Bài dịch song ngữ bài 3:

You know the world of English is a fun and exciting place to be.
We're so glad you could join us for another lesson.
Hi everybody...this is Misterduncan in Englannnnnnnnnnnd!
Hi everybody, this is Misterduncan in England.
How are you today?
Are you OK? I hope so!
Are you happy? I hope so!

In this lesson
we will look at two actions,
which many of us do,
although maybe not as often as we should.
Today we will talk about saying...
"Please" and 'Thank you'
Saying...'Please'
We usually say 'please' when asking for something,
or as a polite (nice) way of saying yes to an offer.
'Please can I watch some TV?'
'Can I please go out to play?'
'May I please leave the room?'
'Could I please have some icecream?'
'Would you like some icecream?'
'Oh yes please!'
'Do you want something to eat?'
'Yes I would please!'
'Can I offer you a cup of coffee?'
'Oh please, that would be great!'

The word please can be used to show satisfaction and pleasure.
'I'm pleased with my new house.'
'This job please me.'
'Your music give me pleasure.'
'I'm very pleased to meet you.'
From those few examples yu can see that
'Please' and 'pleasure' are closely related in origin
but are sometimes used in completely different ways.
if something makes you pleased,
you can say that you feel...
Uplifted
Perked
Chuffed
Gladdened
Overjoyed
Over the Moon

Saying 'Thank You'
The action of saying 'thank you'
is seen as the most polite way of showing
how grateful you are for receiving something
or as a way of acknowledging an act of kindness.
We say 'thank you' to show our appreciation.
By saying 'thank you', you...
Show your gratitude.
You express your appreciation.
You acknowledge the kindness.
You return the generosity
verbally.
You offer your sincerest thanks.
You are grateful.

There are many ways to say 'thank you'...
'Thank you.'
'Thank you very much.'
'Thanks a lot.'
'Thank you so much'
'Thanks a bundle'
'You are too kind.'
'Thanks ever such a lot.'
'Cheers'
'Ta very much!'
Sometimes we may express surprise and joy,
as well as showing our thanks.
'Wow how kind...'
thanks you!
'That's good of you...'
'cheers!'
'I don't know what to say...'
thanks a lot!
'I'm overwhelmed... thank you so much!'
'What can I say?'
'You are the best!'
'Thanks you very much!'
'This present is so nice!'
'Oh you shouldn't have!'

Oh dear...
I appear to be in the wrong lesson...
mmm, how embarrassing...
I suppose I had better go.
Saying 'thank you' is the best way
to show your gratitude to another person.
It is a polite thing to do.
To acknowledge someone's kindness is a nice thing to do.
And don;t forget...
...kindness creates more kindness.
I hope

Well that is all from me for today.
May I offer you my sincerest thanks
for watching me, teaching you.
This is Misterduncan in English saying...
Ta-ta for now.
Bài 4: Lesson Four (Response to 'Please'/'Thank You').

Bài dịch song ngữ bài 4:

You know the world of English is a fun and exciting place to be.
I'm so glad you could join me for another lesson.
Hi everybody, this is Misterduncan in England.
How are you today?
Are you OK? I hope so!
Are you happy? I hope so!
In my last lesson
I talked about saying 'please' and 'thank you'
Today we will look at the different ways of replying to these sentences.
Making your response.
when a person asks you a question,
you will normally give a reply.
A sentence with the word 'please' in it, normally needs a response.
The reply can be either...
yes, no, or maybe.
They could also be much longer sentences,
including a reason for the reply or an added condition.
'Please can I watch some TV?'
'Yes, but only for an hour.'
'No, you can not, you have to do your homework.'
'Maybe after dinner you can.'
'Can I please go out to play with my friends?'
'Yes you can... but be home before it gets dark.'
'No you can not, it is too late.'
'Maybe, after you have done your chores.'
'Please may I leave the room?'
'You may.'
'No, sorry you may not.'
'Maybe after you have finished eating your food.'
'Could I please have some ice cream?'
'Yes you can, but not too much.'
'No you can't, you've had some already today.'
'Maybe later, if you are good.'
Of course you can just reply with a simple...
'Yes.'
'No'
'Maybe'
But if you do say 'no', then the other person will probably ask...
'Why not?'
Saying 'no' to someone can be a very difficult thing to do.
There are many different ways of responding to a request,
which we will be taking a closer look at in a later lesson.
Replying to 'thank you.'
After you have said 'thank you',
the other person may offer you a response.
'Thank you very much for the meal.'
'It's my pleasure.'
'Thanks a lot for letting me stay with you.'
'You are very welcome.'
'Thank you for the special award.'
'You deserve it.'
'That was a great meal...cheers!'
'It's quite alright.'
'I appreciate your kindness...thank you so much.'
'The pleasure is all mine.'
'Oh thank you for the lovely birthday present,
it must have been expensive,
...oh you shouldn't have.'
That's OK...
You are worth it!
Saying 'please' and 'thank you' are very simple actions,
and by using them, you are showing that you are a polite person,
who is willing to show respect to other people,
which...is quite a nice thing really.
Well another lesson has... flown by.
Please come back real soon for another one.
Before I finish today,
I would like to say a special 'hello', to one of my online English students.
Diego, and also a big 'hello' to his family
watching in Canicatti,
which is in Sicily.
That is definitely it from me,
until next time, this is Misterduncan in England, saying...
thank you for watching me, teaching you...
...and of course...
...ta-ta for now.
Bài 5: Learning English-Lesson Five (Good/Bad).

Bài dịch song ngữ bài 5:

You know the world of English is a fun and exciting place to be.
I'm so glad you could join me for another lesson.
Hi every body, this is Misterduncan in England.
How are you today?
Are you OK?, I hope so!
Are you...
...happy?, I hope so!
in this lesson
we will take a look at two common words
which have opposite meanings
and many uses with the English language.
Today we will look at...
Good and bad
In English, just like any other language,
we need to be able to express that which is...
Positive and that which is... Negative
The words 'good' and 'bad' give us a very simple,
but useful way of expressing these descriptions easily,
but there are many other ways of showing what is...
Good or OK
and what is
Bad or Not OK
We can use...
Good or Bad
to describe the way we feel.
'How are you feeling today?'
'I feel good'
'I feel bad'
In the positive sentence, good can mean...
Well or Happy
and in the negative sentence, bad can mean...
Unwell or Unhappy
Good and bad can be used to show...
Enjoyment
or a dislike towards something.
'Did you enjoy the movie?'
'Yes it was good'
'No it was bad'
Of course we can use good and bad to describe a person
and their character.
'Thank you for your help, you are good'
'That man stole my bike, he is bad'
Let's look at some longer sentences using good and bad.
'My boss gave me the morning off from work...'
'...so I went shopping...'
'...I had a really good morning'
'I lost my wallet this morning...'
'...and then I was late for work,'
'...I had a really bad morning'
'I went for lunch today with a good friend of mine...'
'...but the food at the restaurant was bad...'
'...I'm not going there again.'
'We had a good time today...'
'..too bad we have to say goodbye.'
In the last sentence, too bad means...
It is a pity
Isn't that a shame?
It's too bad
It would seem that there are
many more uses for the word good than bad,
which is quite a good thing, don't you agree?
Hey
Hey there
I'm talking to you!
Rude bird!
It is worth remembering that the words...
Well and Good
cannot always be used as similes.
For example, you cannot say...
'He sang Good today' X
'She ran good today' X
They played good today' X
In these sentences, you can only use 'well'
However, when we look at it the other way round,
'Well' can be used instead of 'good'
when describing the way you feel.
So saying that you feel well or that you feel good are both correct.
This rule can cause a lot of confusion for some English students.
Finally we can use 'good' and 'bad' as basic ways
of expressing what is right and wrong.
Good is the opposite of evil and wicked.
In Religion, we often see the words 'good' and 'evil' used as opposites.
There is a saying in English that goes...
'You must take the good with the bad' or
'The rough with the smooth'
This means that life is not always fair or easy.
You must accept the unpleasant experiences
and hard times for what they are.
All experiences are a part of living,
be they good or bad.
Well that is all from me for today,
but do not feel bad because I will be back again very soon.
Is that good for you?
I hope so
This is Misterduncan in England saying...
thank you for watching me, teaching you...
and of course...
Ta-ta for now !
Chúc bạn thành công !
